RPG Training Systems presents ATHLETE DEVELOPMENT

C.A.D

The purpose of Complete Athlete Development (C.A.D) is to build an athletic foundation of mobility, stability, strength, speed, and power. We identify and address individual needs and goals to build a well-rounded strength and conditioning program to match the athlete and their intended sport. Athletes will be guided through a 60-minute session throughout the week by our certified coaches to maximize their skills and abilities.

With our online programs, C.A.D website content and affiliations, athletes will have all that they need to be successful in their development.

Athlete Development program

C.A.D INCLUDES…

Sessions will consist of preparation and movement skills, strength and power training, and metabolic and energy system development. As athletes progress through our programs, sessions will incorporate a wider variety of movements to challenge reaction, coordination and complex patterns. All C.A.D sessions are led by our qualified coaches to maximize athlete development in the following areas:

MOBILITY/STABILITY: SMR, Muscle Activation, Joint Stabilization

SPEED: Acceleration, Deceleration, Linear and Lateral Movement Techniques, Sprinting Mechanics

AGILITY: Reactive and Non-Reaction Change of Direction, Center of Gravity

POWER: Olympic Lifting, Plyometrics, Medicine Ball Drills

STRENGTH: Upper and Lower Body Strength Patterns

CONDITIONING: General and Sport Specific Conditioning

In-Season Programming

In-season is a time to manage volume and intensity very closely to maximize the effectiveness of the training and sport competitions.

As the volume of practices and games continue to go up throughout the season, our program is designed to ensure athletes are addressing key performance indicators and establishing harmony and balance in the body.

A large emphasis in the in-season is maintaining our pillars of performance.

  • Mobility and Stability

  • Anaerobic and Aerobic Conditioning

  • Strength

  • Speed

  • Power {(Force × Distance) ÷ Time}

OFF-SEASON PROGRAMMING

Off-season is a time to WORK (with a capital W). The off-season (“low-volume team sport time”) is quickly becoming a lost period of time that gets consumed by sport-specific camps, clinics and workshops. Some sport practice is encouraged to maintain developmental patterning and skill acquisition, but (as eluded to above) the volume of the in-season is so great that adaptation only really happens in the off-season.

The volume of the sessions will be high! The intensity of the workouts (relative to 1RM and Max Speed) will be high! The work-load demand on the athletes (conditioning) will be…you guessed it, high!

The off-season months are meant to be your growth window for physical adaptation, whereas the in-season is meant for technical and tactical skill acquisition.

Sessions will be initially designed to ensure quality of the movements can be achieved and maintained under various loads. Once a proficiency can be achieved in the fundamental movement patterns, there will be a heavy emphasis on Strength, Speed and Power during the training sessions, and a greater onus on the athletes to adapt self-care on none-training days to maximize time in the weight-room.
